If you have the latest MacBook with USB C ports, you will soon find out you really need an adapter like this one to connect your Macbook to HDMI, USB 3.1, or MicroSD card.
There are many adapters on Amazon, but instead of buying multiple single-purpose adapters, try to buy ONE adapter that will rule them all. There are bigger adapters with more options, ( like Ethernet, or VGA out ) but If you do not need it ditch it. for most people, I think this adapter will give you all the extra connections you need!
This Adapter will give you access to
1. HDMI port >>> Connect to TV My number one reason for getting this
2. TWO USB 3.1 Ports
3. TWO USB C ports ( you can charge your MacBook while using the adapter! One of them is DATA only, but other one is Thunderbolt 3)
4. ONE Micro SD cards

I picked Chotech because I purchased their Lighting to USB C cables and power adapter 6 months ago ( It's the fastest way to charge your iPhone! ) and was impressed with the fit and finish of the product. The body of the adapter is made with metal and it is very solid. all the ports line up with Macbook perfectly. So far I used HDMI ports for watching shows on TV, MicroSD slots for downloading the videos off of go pro, and USB 3.1 slots for Keyboard connection, and they all worked well.
Overall I'm super happy with this purchase. The product is a lightweight, small footprint, and the quality of fit and finish is great! If you have one of the new Apple Macbook Air or Macbook Pro with two USB C ports on the side, I think you would like this too!

I should have got this hub long back. I use Macbook pro for my office work since years and have been relying on the individual adapters mostly apple proprietary ones. They were damn costly and bunch of things to carry around. This hub is really compact and super useful. Number of ports in the hub covers all the needs while using the machine. Occupy 2 ports, but provides 1HDMI, 2 USB3.0 , 1 USB-C, 1 thunderbolt along with microSD + SD card reader options. Unless you don't use 2 monitors, this hub will suffice all needs. Charging via thunderbolt supports 100W PD and so charges fast with macbook chargers. Very good design and looks high build quality.
Only one problem is that thickness is minor more than laptop ,so sometimes it feels to be wobbling or uneasy to carry along when connected. But it's so compact that you can even toss in your pocket and carry anywhere. Highly recommended. It cost less than any single apple adapter but has many ports which you need.

Choetech again has made a name for themselves in the electronics market. This hub fits snugly against my macbook pro, and the USB C ports slide perfectly into place. The adapter has a aluminum body which exactly matches the color of the macbook pro. All adapters work without a hitch. The USB C input closer to the trackpad cannot be charged through, but can do everything else. The other USB C can be charged through, so it's no issue. Overall would definitely reccomend. Choetech is the new Anker!

I love its size and number different connectors you can attached to this 9 in 1 USB C Hub. I was able to hook up two external monitors to it no problem, plus two USBs.
One small problem, because it's a little thicker than my Macbook, I can tell there's a uneven joint between the laptop and the dock (see photo), but it shouldn't be a problem since the ports on Macbook chassis is strong aluminum and it wouldn't break dock even If I press it really hard.
I will be carrying this with me all the time, no more cable, just plug and play.

I was concerned that the 2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch would not have a sufficient number of ports. There only are 2 USB-C ports and one is used for power. Theis adapter fits perfectly into the 2 ports, and provides so many more, both USB-⅔ ports and USB-C, as well as HDMI and a card reader. It is perfect. I also was concerned that it would be to bulky to be used in conjunction with the Kensington laptop locking station 2.0 (the MacBook no longer has a lock slot), but the two can be used at the same time. I would not travel with the adapter in place, though, as you risk damaging the laptop or the adapter. But, you could travel with it and reinstall it once at your destination and the laptop is secured.

I just got my hub in the mail today. Hooked it up and immediately loved it! First thing I did is check and see if it would charge through the lighting port that the hub provides and worked flawlessly - after that put in HDMI for my monitor, 2 USB 3.0 for my Keyboard and Mouse, plugged in the charger, and USB C SSD and works perfectly! Best thing to have for any who owns MacBook Pro 2016 and newer. material is very solid doesn't feel cheap, very sturdy and fits in perfectly with no lumps or bumps. I have my MacBook flat on my desk and I can say it doesn't make your MacBook.
